‘불멸의 가수’ 배호, 재즈로 다시 태어나다

재즈 디바 말로가 ‘불멸의 가수’ 배호를 재즈로 재해석한 ‘‘말로 싱즈 배호 (Malo sings Baeho)’가 LP로 나왔다.이번 LP는 특별히 45회전 투명 컬러반으로 제작했으며, 게이트 폴드팁온슬리브(펼침 양장) 자켓과 4페이지 컬러 인서트 등 최고급 사양을 자랑한다. 커팅, 프레싱, 인쇄 전 공정을 체코에서 진행했다.
배호 최고의 히트곡인 ‘돌아가는 삼각지’는보사노바로 ‘안개 낀 장충단공원’은 블루스, ‘안개 속으로 가버린 사람’과 ‘안녕’은 탱고로 바뀌었다. 앨범의 프로듀싱과 편곡까지 도맡아 한 말로는 재즈를 근간으로 다양한 장르의 어법을 빌려와 배호의 히트곡들을 전면 재해석했다. 말로의 뛰어난 편곡에 힘입어 오랫동안 ‘전설’ 저편에서 잠자던 배호의 음악들이 예술적 감성을 얻어 지금 이 시대의 노래로 태어났다.
특히 이 앨범은 배호와 동시대 연주자였던 아코디언의 대가 심성락과 가요계 거목 최백호가 피처링해 그 의미가 각별하다. 후배 재즈 연주자들과 처음으로 호흡을 맞춘 심성락은 연륜이 묻어나는 그만의 아코디언 톤으로 ‘안개 속으로 가버린 사람’ ‘안녕’ 2곡에서 감동적인 연주를 선사했다.심성락은 최근 타계해 이 앨범에 실린 그의 연주가 한국 대중 음악의 귀한 유산이 됐다.최백호는 ‘안개 속으로 가버린 사람’에서 중후하고 페이소스 넘치는 목소리로 말로와 멋진 듀엣을 선보이고 있다.
주옥 같은 배호의 노래들은 수없이 리메이크됐으나, 재즈 버전의 앨범으로 나온 것은 처음이다. 이 앨범은 민경인(피아노) 황이현(기타) 정영준(베이스) 이도헌(드럼) 등 최고의 재즈 연주자들이 말로와 함께 스튜디오 라이브 방식으로 녹음했으며, 뮤지션 간의 순간적 교감을 최대한 살렸다.
말로는 지난 2010년 배호를 소재로 한 뮤지컬 ‘천변카바레’의 음악 감독과 극중 ‘정수’역을 맡아 배호와 음악적 인연을 맺었다. 이 앨범은 말로가 지난 2010년 전통 가요를 재즈로 재해석한 ‘동백아가씨’에 이은 ‘K-STANDARDS’ 두번째 시리즈다. 한때 주류 음악으로 유통되던 전통 가요 중엔 빼어난 노랫말과 멜로디를 갖춘 품격 높은 노래가 많다. 배호의 노래들이 그 대표적 예다. 이들 노래를 현대적으로 재해석하고 동시대성을 부여하는 작업은 ‘주변 장르’로 밀려난 전통 가요의 복권을 위해서 중요한 일이다.
지난 1971년 스물아홉의 나이에 요절한 배호는 8년 남짓 짧은 음악 활동에도 불구하고 수많은 히트곡을 남겼으며, 사후 35년만에 전집 앨범이 발매되고 2003년 옥관문화훈장을 수훈했을 정도로 한국 가요사에서 절대적 자리를 차지하고 있는 뮤지션이다.

Returns & Exchanges

2) We accept return(s) if:

**Return Instructions
(1) Post a return request on our Return forum within three days of receipt. You are required to attach the photos of the received product(s) and include the item code, the order number, and the reason for the return.
(2) A customer service representative will be in contact to assist you by email or phone.
(3) Items returned must be in their original condition, which includes tags and any packaging. Also, you need to include a note of your order number, name, and user ID.
*Please be advised that returns are accepted ONLY IF you followed the instructions above and your return request has been approved by our staff. Returns that are shipped to us without any prior consent are not accepted.
*Please note that EVEN the defective/incorrect item(s) must be returned with all of the tags and labels intact. The item(s) must be sent in their original packaging and unworn.
*Please include all contents of the original package and free gifts (if applicable) in your return packaging.
* Shipping fee for any return caused by our fault will be paid by the company. However, if EMS’ cash on delivery is not possible then you can scan the return receipt and either mail it with the item to return or post an image of it on the forum. The shipping fee will be refunded once the returned item has arrived.
3) We do not accept return(s) if:
-you are returning the items just because you changed your mind (on size, color, etc.)
-you are returning shoes, bags, or any other accessories
-the products are damaged due to your mishandling
-your return request is not approved by our staff
The following items are not considered defective:

4) If there is a missing item from your order:
